Rodrique Engering appointed chair of the KVK board

Rodrique Engering has been appointed chair of the Board of Directors at the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK) by the minister of Economic Affairs, starting 1 April 2025. He succeeds Greet Prins, who is retiring at the end of her 4-year term.

Rodrique Engering: “With our registers, data, information, and advice, we contribute to safe and responsible business and a healthy business climate - something I am committed to and proud of with conviction. In my new role as chairman, I look forward to continuing the recently adopted long-term strategy, together with all colleagues, and providing entrepreneurs with the guidance they need. Creating more customer value for entrepreneurs and maintaining a future-proof organisation are paramount.”

Currently, as a member of KVK's Board of Directors, Engering's responsibilities include the provision of services and keeping the Business Register future-proof and the provision of data products to public and private customers. He also holds the Finance and Control portfolio. In his new role as chairman of the board, Engering's efforts will continue to include an agile KVK and the implementation of new laws and regulations.

After a career in the private sector, Engering made the transition to the public domain. As managing director, he led the Benefits Division at the Employee Insurance Agency UWV, where he shared the final responsibility in times of major change challenges.

Sandor Gaastra, Secretary-General of Economic Affairs: “KVK is the basis for reliable business and therefore an essential building block for our business climate. Moreover, KVK helps many people in their first steps towards entrepreneurship, and thus also contributes to an entrepreneurial Netherlands. As a member of the Executive Board, Rodrique has contributed to KVK as a solid but also innovative public service provider. I am pleased that he will now serve another term as chairman of the BoD.”
