KVK Figures and Trends provides valuable information on economic developments. Every year, KVK Bedrijvendynamiek (Business Dynamics) tells you how the economy has changed over the past year. The insights are based on data from the Business Register.

The data in the report is broken down by sector and province. This makes it easy to compare sectors and regions. The annual report also includes information on gender, age, and country of birth of (starting) entrepreneurs.
2023: turning point
Over 276,000 businesses started in 2023, 2% more than the previous year. The number of businesses that stopped increased sharply: nearly 147,500. That is 8% more than in 2022. In absolute figures, the number of establishments registered in the Business Register still rose, by 127,000. It is worth noting that the proportion of self-employed professionals (zzp'ers) continues to rise.
