The first quarter of 2024, compared to the same period last year, saw a further increase in the number of stoppers and bankruptcies, while the number of starters continues to decline. Retail is the only sector to see an increase in the number of start-ups. This is according to the KVK Trend Report. The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce KVK (KVK) signals this in the KVK Trend Report Q1 2024.
The KVK Trend Report provides insight into the development of the number of business establishments, starters, stoppers and bankruptcies in the Netherlands over the past decade. This edition compares Q1 2024 with Q1 2023. The report includes information on different business sectors and provinces. In addition, it shows the proportion of businesses in the Netherlands that are self-employed professionals without staff. Besides these developments in business dynamics, the Trend Report also contains information on legal structures, gender and age of entrepreneurs and some business cycle indicators.
The report is only available in Dutch.
